Off Site Teaching Programs
Virginia Tech participates with the industrially rich DC metropolitan area by conducting teaching programs in collaboration with companies located in proximity of its Northern Virginia Center (NVC) campus at Falls Church. As such, several professional and paracticing engineers and technologists are enrolled as part-time graduate students at the NVC.

Some of the engineering courses offered at the ARI and the NVGC are video-broadcasted directly to students at their workplace such as the Lockheed Martin in Fairfax, the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Dahlgren and the Hampton Roads Graduate Center at Virginia Beach. Courses include:

ECE 4644 Satellite Communications
ECE 6504 Advanced Topics in Computer Engineering

Courses are also offered online to such students via the Virginia Tech Blackboard. These include:

ECE4364 - Alternate Energy Systems
ECE5364 - Electric Energy & Environmental Systems
